Overview of crypto regulations

Are cryptocurrencies regulated in Dubai?

Similarly to the FATFs definition of virtual assets, the Virtual Assets Law in Dubai defines virtual assets as a digital representation of value that is tradeable.

According to the Law No.4 of 2022 on the Regulation of Virtual Assets (VAL)

A digital representation of value that may be digitally traded, transferred, or used as an exchange or payment tool, or for investment purposes. This includes Virtual Tokens, and any digital representation of any other value as determined by VARA.
